Duel of the day: Reynaldo Lopez (White Sox No. 5) vs. Jacob Faria (Rays’ No. 9), Charlotte vs. Durham (7:05 p.m. ET on MiLB.TV)

Lopez had lowered his ERA to 2.94 before his May 26 start, when he allowed a season-high eight earned runs in four innings for Triple-A Charlotte. The No. 38 overall prospect bounced back in his subsequent outing, however, tossing six innings of one-run ball with five hits and six strikeouts. It marked the sixth time in eight starts that Lopez has permitted one or fewer earned runs. Overall, the 23-year-old righty owns a 3.81 ERA through 11 starts, with 60 strikeouts and 27 walks in 59 innings.

Top Prospects: Lopez, CWS

Faria, 23, has been excellent in his last three starts for Durham, posting a 1.04 ERA with 22 strikeouts and a .105 opponents’ average against over 17 1/3 innings. The right-hander has been excellent this season, too, as he enters Tuesday with a 6-1 record and a 3.07 ERA through 11 starts totaling 58 2/3 innings. What’s more, Faria’s 84 strikeouts (12.9 K/9) are tied for second among all Minor League hurlers, and he’s showing better control this year in his return to the International League.
